GDZ-ISIS is liner shipping software for ocean carriers that run scheduled services: vessels and voyages, contracts and tariffs, bookings, equipment, bills of lading, U.S. Customs ACE filing and accounting in one integrated system. GDZ Computer Services has built and supported it in South Florida since 1985.
A liner carrier sails a published service on a fixed rotation, and every sailing carries the same chain of work: rates and contracts, bookings against the vessel, empty equipment released and returned, cargo received, bills of lading issued, the manifest filed with Customs before loading, and freight invoiced and collected. Each step depends on the one before it, and each one has a deadline tied to the vessel.
When those steps live in separate programs or spreadsheets, the same shipment is typed again and again. Every retyped field is a chance for a freight correction, a late manifest or an equipment unit that cannot be found. Liner shipping software exists to hold the whole voyage in one place.
Carriers, agents and software vendors use several names for the same thing: liner shipping software, shipping liner software, shipping line software, ocean carrier software or a container shipping system. They all describe an operating system for a company that moves cargo on its own or chartered vessels on a regular schedule. GDZ-ISIS, the Integrated Shipping Industry System, is that system.
In GDZ-ISIS information is captured once and moves from module to module. A quotation becomes a booking, the booking checks equipment availability and feeds the dock receipt, the dock receipt and contacts feed the bill of lading, the bill of lading is rated against the tariff and compared with the original quotation, and the result posts to receivables, payables and the general ledger, one bill at a time, by port or for an entire vessel.
The same records drive the ACE manifest sent to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, so what Customs receives matches what the carrier issued, and approvals, holds and inspections come back to each shipment.
GDZ Computer Services is in Palmetto Bay, Miami-Dade County, a short drive from PortMiami and the Miami River. GDZ-ISIS is used by ocean carriers and maritime agents working out of PortMiami, the Miami River, Port Everglades, the Port of Palm Beach, JAXPORT and Port Tampa Bay, many of them on Caribbean and Latin American trades.
Each installation is customized to the carrier that runs it, and support comes directly from the team that builds the system, in English and Spanish. GDZ holds a long-standing U.S. Customs ACE interface certification.
